Former world champion Ricky Hattonot hook up on wow

Hitman Ricky, who is due to announce his retirement from the ring this week, is hooked on World Of Warcraft.

Former world champion Ricky Hatton will call time on his career in the ring at a press conference next week.Hatton was set to face Juan Manuel Marquez in a summer comeback clash and had been at a training camp in an attempt to get into shape. However, his training has reportedly not been a success, leading the Hitman to admit he can no longer perform at the highest level.

The boxing ace says that he spends up to three hours a day as a warlock in the online fantasy world.

Pals say he has racked up so many hours that he has achieved the coveted status of warlock.Dad-of-one Ricky, 31, is said to “love” pummelling dragons and virtual bosses into submission. And he is not alone – up to 11million regularly play the hit game, which costs £10 a month.

A source close to the star said: “Ricky has really got into the game now he has more time on his hands. It’s so easy to lose yourself in the game. It’s really hard to master becoming a warlock but Ricky has managed it. The only trouble is it’s really addictive as you have to play every day to remain top dog.”

The source added: “It’s a great way to get rid of pent-up aggression though, which is probably why Ricky likes it so much.”

The game’s guide says a warlock’s goal is “delivering excruciating pain and drawing out the suffering of their victims”.
